A Round Table with a topic “Improvement of corporate management for “Zero” tolerance for corruption” was held in the Club of Assembly Members on July 27, 2006. The NGO “Transparency Macedonia” organized this conference was organized and representatives of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce attended. The President of “Transparency Macedonia”, Ms. Gabriela Konevska opened the Round Table, while Ms. Slagjana Tasevska presented the project.

Official and working visit to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

Glasgow, Scotland, June 12, 2006. Today, a delegation of entrepreneurs from the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce ("MCC") is starting an official and working visit to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The goal of this visit is to sign an agreement for cooperation between the MCC and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. During this two-day visit, entrepreneurs from the MCC will meet with their colleagues from Scotland. The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce hosts this meeting and it will organize additional meetings with local authorities and media, in order to outline the importance of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce in the economy development of Glasgow and Scotland.

The Trade Chamber of Macedonia, the Industrial Chamber of Macedonia and the Catering Chamber of Macedonia have been registered to the Court Register in September 2004, according to the Law on Chambers of Commerce adopted in 2002. After the founding, branch chambers united and formed the Macedonian Association of Chambers of Commerce (“ACC”) in September 2004. The Agro-Business Chamber joined the ACC in July 2005. The Information and Communication Technologies Chamber (“ICT”) joined the ACC in December 2005.

Reply to the request by the Ministry of Economy for data on performing public authorizations

In regard to the request by the Ministry of Economy for data on performing public authorizations, the ACC has sent a reply which states that branch chambers of the ACC do not have rights to perform public authorizations, even though the Law on Chambers of Commerce (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia, issue number 54), Article 28, grants them the right to perform public authorizations.
At the same time, the ACC requested once again to be granted with the right to perform public authorizations as soon as possible, in order to meet demands and needs of ACC members.
